The Juan Santos Atahualpa Waterfall is located in the Perené district and consists of a single jump of about 30 meters. Although it is very charming and the well-marked road is not among the most visited waterfalls. Therefore the environment is not very contaminated and it is worth a visit. To reach the waterfall you continue from La Merced along the main road and arrived in Santa Ana, just after the entrance of the village there is a sign that tells you to take the dirt road on the left, which runs almost parallel to the road provincial climbing through the hills. Crossing several small towns and outbuildings after about 20 km, more or less 40 minutes from Santa Ana to the Populated Center of the Zona Patria and from here a few minutes later you reach the parking lot of the waterfall. At this point you have to go down a short path that, being little frequented, in some places is a bit impervious but not dangerous. Paying attention it is possible to bathe in the waters of the waterfall. Not far away another path leads to the Cave Juan Santos Atahualpa that you find in the dedicated card.
